There are several hypotheses about its origin, for example, they say that the first time this sauce was made, it was made by a Thai woman named Thanom Chakkapak who lived in the mentioned city, also known by the name of Sri Racha.

This sauce is also said to have been first made by a group of Si Racha Burmese sawmill workers, who went to a store to buy chili peppers, salt, vinegar, and sugar to make a sauce in their mortar, and the owner of the store. 

He started making it too, both for his family and to sell it. Shortly after, a customer started buying the same ingredients in large quantities as he was making the same chili sauce to sell it already under a brand name 'Sauce Si Racha Traa Phukhao Thong'.

Be that as it may, it is sure that many are still surprised how a sauce produced as a local product has become one of the most international sauces. 

In short, with the data provided so far we can solve another of the doubts that this sauce raises, and it is about its pronunciation, as it comes from the name of its city of origin, it would be something like ' siracha'.
