What is the difference between an absolute and a relative place? When the term "geography" is mentioned, many people think of volcanoes, capital cities, oceans, mountains and maps. 

However, geography consists of much more. It includes the physical characteristics of the earth and its atmosphere, how nature impacts the physical characteristics and the relationship between humans and the characteristics of the earth.

Relative location
